  • Public service

You must make a customs declaration to Customs for goods stored in a customs warehouse. Goods from outside the European Union, for which an import duty or other similar payment has not been paid, may be stored with the customs warehousing procedure. In special circumstances, Union goods can also be placed under the customs warehousing procedure (for example, Åland).

To keep a customs warehouse, ...

Do the following

Make a customs clearance through the Customs e-service in the Customs Clearance Service online service.

Log in to the service using a Suomi.fi identifier. You can find more detailed instructions in the service.

You will receive the decision on release from the service. If the goods are in temporary storage when you submit a customs declaration for customs warehousing, send the release decision also to the keeper of the temporary warehouse, if necessary, so that the goods can be released from the warehouse. If you declared the goods to be stored in a public customs warehouse, send the release decision also to the warehousekeeper if necessary.

There is no time limit for the storage of goods under the customs warehousing procedure.
