Starting up business operations

A self-employed individual with a business name or an agricultural operator can start business operations in MyTax. Limited liability companies, general partnerships and limited partnerships must be founded in the Business Information System (BIS, ytj.fi).

Do the following

If you are a personal customer, you can start business operations in MyTax. You will receive a business ID and enter the Tax Administration’s registers, that is, the VAT register, the Prepayment Register and the Employer Register.

Please note that if you also enter the Trade Register, register your business name and industry separately in the BIS service with the change report Y6.

To whom and on what terms

If you are a personal customer (self-employed with a business name or an agricultural operator), you can start business operations in MyTax.

Limited liability companies, other communities, general partnerships and limited partnerships get a business ID and they can enter different registers in the ytj.fi service.
