Services to support older people living at home

The Social Welfare Act defines support services as services that enable the client to carry out the activities of daily living as independently as possible, and services that enable the client to obtain well-being-producing content in his or her life.

The following services are provided as support services according to the individual needs of the person:

  • clothing service,
  • ...

Services are referred through a well-being area's service needs assessment.

If you are not yet receiving services for older people, you can contact the central customer service for older people in Southwest Finland. This service offers advice on different service options for older people and their relatives.

If you or your elderly loved one already has an existing client relationship with, for example, the home care or disability services of the South West Finland welfare region, please contact the service provider in the first instance.

To whom and on what terms

Support services and safety car service may be provided on the basis of individual need, taking into account the award criteria. The need will be verified during the assessment of service needs.
