A child who has arrived in Finland as an unaccompanied minor can live in a family group home or in family care that supports integration. Family group homes and family care supporting integration are intended for children under 18 who have arrived in Finland without a guardian. A child is entitled to these services once they have received a residence permit and a municipality placement, either through the reception system or as a quota refugee.
Access to services for unaccompanied minors is based on an individual service needs assessment.
Aftercare to support integration ends at the latest when the young person turns 23. After that, we can help you find other services if needed.
