Uimastadion Swimming Stadium is one of the most popular swimming and sports facilities in Helsinki, attracting visitors throughout the summer. Designed by Architect Jorma Järvi and completed in 1947 for the 1952 Olympic Games, the Swimming Stadium is the oldest outdoor swimming pool in Finland.

Accessibility information

The sports facilities are located on floor 1.
For moving around, there is a lift cramped for wheelchair users; the door opens easily manually. The floor numbers in the lift cannot be felt with fingers. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
The service point has directions to the different facilities.
The customer service/cashier's desk is located on the entrance floor.
The customer service/cashier's desk can be found easily. The desk is accessible to customers standing only.
At the customer service/cashier's desk, you can borrow a wheelchair, shower wheelchair, rollator walker.

The dressing rooms are located on the entrance floor.
The facility does not have an accessible dressing room. The men's/women's dressing rooms must be used instead. The door of the dressing room is heavy or otherwise hard to open.
The dressing room features a dressing bench and sufficient room for an assistant. The numbering of the lockers is clearly legible. An accessible toilet is connected to the dressing room.
The shower room is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door of the shower room opens easily manually.
The shower room has a more spacious and accessible showering spot with a seat as well as a support railing.
The sauna is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door opens easily manually.
The sauna has room for one wheelchair.

Room is available next to the pools for storing aids during swimming.
The large/deep pool features accessible entry via a pool lift or gently-sloping steps. The steps have handrails on both sides.
The children's pool features accessible entry via gently-sloping steps. The steps have handrails on both sides.
A separate teaching pool is not available. Teaching is provided in various pools depending on the situation.
An accessible toilet is not available in the pool area.
