Puropellon koulu (Puropelto School)

The City of Turku basic education consists of 28 Finnish-language schools. Basic Education covers grades 1 to 9 and is free of charge.

Activities are organised for students in grades 1 and 2 on weekdays during the school year in the vicinity of the school. The activities are guided.

Preparatory education for basic education (VALMO) gives students who have another native language the skills needed to move to basic education.

At the gyms of schools and other educational facilities, you can do almost all kinds of indoor sports.

A student living in Turku has a right to a free school transport if the way to school is over five kilometers or dangerous.

When moving up to third or seventh grade, a student can enrol in a special or language-oriented class instead of a regular class.

In student guidance counselling you get support in planning your future and further studies. Counselling is given to every student in basic education.
