To whom and on what terms

The service is intended for people who live in their own homes but need a wide range of rehabilitative activities to support coping at home. Rehabilitative day activities are always provided on the basis of an assessment made by a professional. The assessment takes into account the client’s physical, mental and social functioning ability and the client is then directed to a group suiting their goals and needs.

The service is granted for a period of 3–6 months, after which the need for it will be reassessed. Rehabilitative day activities can also be granted to support the informal carer’s resources.

You may be eligible for rehabilitative day activities in the following cases:

- If your muscle strength in your legs and arms has decreased, which is noticeable as a difficulty in getting out of bed or off the toilet seat, if you have difficulty in moving around safely in your home using an aid, if you have an increased risk of falling or if you have decreased balance.

- If you feel lonely or need social contact. You may also have been diagnosed with a decline in memory or a pre-existing memory disorder.

-If you suffer from a decline in mood or melancholia.

- If you have difficulties in performing everyday tasks, such as cooking or taking out the rubbish.

- When you are an informal care patient

The prerequisite for granting the service is also that:

- you are able to work in a group

- you are able to take part in a group with 1–2 people instructed at a time.

The use of aids related to mobility or sensory functions, such as walkers/crutches/wheelchairs/walking sticks for visual impairment or hearing aids does not prevent you from taking part in the group.
