Registration of a carrion feeding site for wild animals

  • Permit or other obligation
  • 7 municipalities
  • Public service

Feeding with carrion requires registration of the carrion feeding site.

Feeding with carrion means setting food at a site to attract animals. The purpose of feeding with carrion is to make photographing, viewing or hunting easier. Carrion feeding sites can also be used for only feeding purposes.

The Finnish Food Authority is responsible for the register’s operation.

Do the following

Submit the notification of the location of the carrion feeding site in the e-service of the animal keeper and location register. Alternatively, you can submit it to your municipal veterinarian, who will register the carrion site in the register of carrion feeding sites in connection to the animal keeper and location register.

Please note that each carrion feeding site must be registered separately.

To whom and on what terms

The registration can be made if the carrion keeper has filled in all the necessary information in the e-service of the register of animal keepers and locations.

The carrion keeper must report any changes related to the carrion feeding site within 30 days in the e-service of the animal keeper and location register. Alternatively, you can use the form to submit it to the municipal veterinarian.

The carrion keeper must also notify the municipal veterinarian monthly of the by-products taken to the carrion feeding site and their amount.

If the operator is established in another EEA state and provides services in Finland on a temporary basis, they are required to have the same registration as the operators established in Finland.

Deadline

The notification must be submitted before feeding is started.

Period of validity

The registration is valid until further notice.
