Pig Registry

  • Service
  • Nationwide
  • Public service

The purpose of Pig Register is to monitor the number of pigs and their movements, and to ensure the traceability of animals. The register helps to prevent and control animal diseases and supports official controls and food safety.

Do the following

Keepers of pigs must report removals, purchases and movements of animals to the Pig Register within 7 days of the event.

In addition, the number of animals must be reported at least three times a year, by the end of May, September and January. The notification must be submitted even if the number of animals has not changed or if there are no animals at all, so‑called zero notification.

The identification requirement applies to all pigs, including, for example, wild boar, wool pigs (mangalitza) and mini pigs, regardless of their number. Animals must be identified even if they are kept as companion animals or pets.

Animal dealers and slaughterhouses must submit their notifications on mediation and slaughter to the Pig Register within 7 days of the event.

Information on all service channels is not available in your chosen language. Change the language of the site to receive information on service channels in other languages.
