Physiotherapy can be purchased privately. The service may be provided without VAT if the criteria are met based on a professional assessment, and the privately paid portion is eligible for a household tax deduction according to the Finnish Tax Administration’s guidelines.
Physiotherapy is intended for anyone who needs support with mobility, rehabilitation, functional ability, or coping with everyday tasks.
The service may be VAT-exempt if the client has a functional limitation that prevents them from managing daily activities independently. Eligibility for VAT exemption does not depend on age and is assessed by a professional during the initial visit.
Privately paid physiotherapy is eligible for a household tax deduction, unless the service is paid using a service voucher or other public support.
