Permits required by a guardian

  • the sale or purchase of a dwelling or right-of-occupancy
  • the sale or purchase of real property
  • division of property and distribution of an inheritance if the estate of the deceased has not appointed an estate distributor

To whom and on what terms

The guardian, substitute guardian or attorney may apply for these permissions. An attorney only needs a permission if so, stipulated in the power of attorney.

As a rule, a minor’s parents act as the minor’s legal guardians.
