Patient ombudsman

The patient ombudsman advises patients on issues related to the patient’s rights, advises how the patient can proceed if he or she is dissatisfied with the care or treatment and gives advice and helps with issues concerning reminders or patient injury reports.

To whom and on what terms

The Patient Ombudsman’s role is impartial, independent, and mandated by law. The Patient Ombudsman cannot change decisions related to care and does not have a supervisory or regulatory role over healthcare providers.
