Outreach youth work provides low-threshold support for young people under the age of 29, especially in challenging life situations. The aim is to support young people in becoming independent, managing everyday life, and participating in education, working life and society. Support is free of charge and based on voluntary participation.

Do the following

Contact the outreach youth worker in your municipality. Contact details can be found on the website www.yhteysetsivaan.fi/?lang=en where it is also possible to submit a contact request about a young person you are concerned about. A young person may also submit a request themselves.

Outreach youth workers can be contacted by phone, WhatsApp, email, or by sending a private message via Facebook or Instagram.

To whom and on what terms

The service is intended for young people aged 15 to 28 who are in need of support.

Outreach youth work helps, for example, young people who are outside education or working life, to access the services they need, such as studies, work or other forms of support. Young people who face challenges in social situations may also benefit from the service.

Outreach youth workers are present in young people’s everyday environments and offer a safe and confidential space to talk with a supportive adult. Participation is voluntary, free of charge and confidential.
