Just outside Helsinki and the Helsinki Metropolitan Area is a unique archipelago that is open to all. Some of these islands can be accessed by bridge, while others can be reached by a ferry service. Some are small recreational islands, accessible by boat or kayak. Only some of these islands stock firewood. The Pihlajasaari and Kaunissaari islands are particularly good for camping.
