Orthodontic treatment requires that the malocclusion (bite defect) meets the national criteria for the treatment. At each oral health check-up, your child's occlusion (bite) is assessed and, if necessary, the child is referred to a specialist dentist for orthodontic screening. If you cancel your screening appointment, make sure to book a new one yourself.
If you accept the treatment, you must follow the treatment schedule and instructions. You can influence the outcome of the treatment by using the appliances accordingly. The treatment may be stopped if you do not follow the instructions for using the appliances or if you have missed three or more appointments.
The need for orthodontic treatment is primarily assessed during the statutory periodic check-ups. If necessary, you are referred to an orthodontic specialist for screening.
You can cancel and reschedule your appointments by phone at 09 4191 2030 (Mon–Fri at 7.30–15.00). Appointments cannot be cancelled or rescheduled through Maisa.
