Notification of the amount of by-products used as carrions

  • Permit or other obligation
  • Isokyrö
  • Public service

The carrion keeper must notify the municipal veterinarian three times a year of the by-products taken to the carrion feeding site and their amount.

Do the following

The operator of a carcass feeding site must report the quantity, animal species, and category of the animal by-products delivered to the site. The report must be submitted three times a year to the municipal veterinarian in whose area the by-products originated. If the feeding site is located in a different municipality, the report must also be submitted to the municipal veterinarian of that municipality. A separate report must be submitted for each feeding site.

Reports on use must be submitted for the following periods:

January–April

May–August, and

September–December.

The report must be submitted using the Finnish Food Authority’s usage report form. The form cannot be completed in an electronic system. Submission of the report is free of charge.

The usage report must be submitted no later than two weeks after the end of each reporting period. A report must be submitted even if no animal by-products have been delivered to the feeding site during the period.

The municipal veterinarian maintains a register of the usage reports received, prepares an annual summary of carcass feeding activities in their area on the basis of these reports, and submits the summary to the Finnish Food Authority in accordance with the animal by-products control plan.
