Lodging an export declaration

Export goods must be placed under the export procedure by lodging a customs export declaration. An export declaration must also be lodged when goods are exported outside the EU's tax jurisdiction, for example to the Canary Islands, and when goods are exported from Åland somewhere other than Finland.

Do the following

  1. Make a customs clearance through the Customs e-service in the Export declaration service.

If necessary, log in to the service through the Suomi.fi e-Identification service. You can also submit some declarations without identification. You can find more detailed instructions in the service.

If you have identified yourself in the service, you will receive a release decision and an export accompanying document (EAD). You must present at the customs office of exit not only the export goods but also the export accompanying document.

If you have not identified yourself in the service, you must present the export goods to the Finnish customs office, in order to receive the release decision and the export accompanying document.

The service allows you to submit customs declarations as follows:

  1. Without identification

• export declaration

• declaration with economic impact

• ship supply declaration

  1. With identification

• export declaration

• declaration with economic impact

• ship supply declaration

• notification of arrival at exit.
