Lift accident notification

A lift accident notification notifies Tukes of an accident in which a lift has been involved. Provisions on notifying an accident are laid down in law.

To whom and on what terms

Provisions on notifying an accident are laid down in section 88 of the Lift Safety Act (1134/2016): The police, the rescue and occupational safety authority and the lift supplier, operator, authorised body, authorised inspector and lift holder shall notify the lift safety authority of a serious accident in which the lift has been involved. An accident must be considered serious if it results in death, serious damage to a person, property or the environment, or if it poses an obvious risk of serious injury to a person, property or the environment.
