Information on patents and utility models

You can search the Finnish Patent and Registration Office’s (PRH) databases for information on patents and utility models in force in Finland, and patent and utility model applications.
Free information is available in PRH's databases, which include:
• PatInfo: The database contains basic information, processing, validity and payment information, as well as documents on Finnish patent, utility model and supplementary protection applications
• FI-EP: The database contains European patents in which Finland has been named at the grant stage. The database contains information on the validity of these European patents in Finland and basic information and translations on the patents that are valid in Finland.
• Espacenet: The database contains patent and utility model publications from around the world. The Espacenet service in Finnish is provided by PRH, in cooperation with the European Patent Office.

The Finnish Patent and Registration Office website has links to the free patent databases. If you want to find all patents valid in Finland for a particular company or for a particular invention, for example, you need to look for them in both PatInfo and FI-EP databases.
To whom and on what terms
There are no restrictions on the use of the Service. The databases are freely available on the internet 24 hours a day.
The service is free of charge.
