The income support for young farmers is an EU-funded direct area-related aid for young farmers.

The purpose of the support is to facilitate the start of agricultural activities, while at the same time promoting the structural development of agriculture.

You can apply for the support annually in the Vipu service in May–June when applying for field subsidies.

To whom and on what terms

You can receive the young farmer's income support if you are no more than 40 years old in the year in which you apply for basic income support for the first time. The support must be applied for within five years of the start of farming.

The support is paid for a maximum of five consecutive years from the first application.

You must meet the training requirement for the young farmer's income support by 31 August of the first year of application. However, you do not need training if you have received the young farmer’s support by 2022 at the latest.
