Service housing under the Disability Services Act is intended for Vantaa and Kerava residents who have a severe disability and meet the criteria. You may be eligible for the service if you need ongoing assistance and support with daily activities at different times of the day but can also manage some activities independently.
To receive the service, please contact the counselling service for people with disabilities either by phone, email, through the Maisa client portal or by sending an application online or in paper form. You can find the up-to-date contact information and opening hours in the Service units tab.
Persons with disabilities may be eligible for housing support if they need assistance or support to manage their daily activities. With housing support, persons with disabilities can live as independently as possible.
Housing support comprises the assistance and support based on the needs of the person with disabilities
The person receiving housing support may live in their own private dwelling or, for example, in a shared dwelling, group of dwellings, a network of dwellings comprising separate dwellings, or in group housing. As a rule, housing support does not include a dwelling. Housing support provided as group housing also includes a rental apartment for which the person with disabilities pays rent.
Housing support can, for example, be provided as personal assistance, with housing support employees, with support services specified in the Social Welfare Act, with home help for families with children, or home care, or by combining these services. Housing support may also include informal care support.
