Free travel tickets for persons liable for non-military service who are performing the work service

When a person liable for non-military service is entitled to a free journey for leave, the service location can provide them with free travel tickets that enable travel by bus, train or aeroplane.
Do the following
The non-military service location checks whether or not the person liable for non-military service is entitled to a free journey and accepts travel tickets in Sivariweb which non-military servant has done in Omasivari.
- Order plane tickets from Non-military Service Centre by phone or email. When making the order, provide the name, date of birth, telephone number, email address, travel itinerary and travel dates of the person liable for non-military service.
To whom and on what terms
During their service time, a person liable for non-military service, who lives in Finland, is entitled for free journeys to and from their home or living locality for a leave and for a free journey after discharge from service.
If a person permanently resides in the Nordic countries, they are entitled to four, if they reside elsewhere in Europe, to three, and if they reside outside of Europe, to two free journeys to and from their home or living locality for a leave and to a free journey after discharge from service.
At its discretion, a service location may also grant all persons liable for non-military service a journey in Finland:
- to a locality where the person permanently works or studies
- to a locality where the person’s spouse or permanent unmarried cohabitant lives
- to a locality where the person’s parent, sibling or child lives
- to a locality where the person will live, work or study in the future, if the person produces an invitation to a job interview or an entrance examination or other similar document
