Fishing licence application for commercial fishing of Baltic herring, sprat or cod

Vessels with an overall length of more than 10 metres that fish Baltic herring and sprat or cod must apply for a fishing licence from the Economic Development Centre before starting fishing activities.

Submit the form to the Economic Development Centre of Southwest Finland as an attachment to the general service form. The form can also be submitted by post, by email, or in person.

To whom and on what terms

Only fishing vessels that fish Baltic herring and sprat or cod are required to apply for the licence.


Deadline

A fishing licence must be applied for before starting fishing activities.

Processing time

The Southwest Finland Economic Development Centre makes the decision immediately upon receipt of the application.

Period of validity

The fishing licence for Baltic herring and sprat is valid for five years, and the fishing licence for cod is valid for one year at a time.
