Emergency social services are designed to provide urgent and essential assistance to people of all ages.

The emergency social services cover situations that require immediate action from social authorities. Such situations may include concerns related to the conditions or safety of minors, domestic violence, or concerns about an elderly person's ability to manage at home.

Contact the Social and Crisis Emergency Service by phone if you need urgent assistance or immediate intervention from social services.

If your matter is not urgent, please submit a notification or contact social services using the forms available on our website. These contacts will be processed within seven working days.

Social and crisis emergency services are available to the residents of all of Lapland's municipalities as well as anyone visiting the area.

Background information

Contact emergency social welfare services when you require urgent help in such matters as child welfare, family crises, domestic violence, life management, mental health or substance abuse. Emergency social welfare services are available 24 hours a day.

Emergency social welfare services work in cooperation with emergency health care services, rescue services, the police, the Emergency Response Centre and other authorities.
