A service intended for dog owners where you can enter a dog’s information in the register, notify of changes to the information, and manage transfers of the keepership. You can submit the notifications in the e-service or by filling out a form. The Dog Registry is an official register that contains the keeper's personal data in addition to the dog's details.
Using the e-service requires strong id ...
The dog’s keeper must obtain an identification mark for the dog (microchip) and enter the dog’s information to the register and also notify of any changes in the information. A dog's keeper is a person who is primarily responsible for the dog’s welfare (keeping animals). If there are more than one keeper, only one keeper submits the information to the register. Only one keeper’s information can be entered in the register.
Companies and communities can also act as dog keepers. When the person submitting the information logs into the Dog Registry, they select either to use the service for themselves or to act on behalf of a company. The companies and organisations for which the logged-in person has the right to represent can be directly selected in the service. All notifications from the Dog Registry can be made in the electronic service or by sending the notification form to the customer service of the Dog Registry.
You can view the information and payment receipts of your dogs in the Dog Registry’s e-service.
Dogs born in 2023 and thereafter - report the dog to the register before the age of three months, but before it is handed over to the new keeper. - changes to the information must be reported within one month of the change - import must be reported within four weeks of the import. Dogs born before 2023 had to be entered in the register by the end of 2023. If you have not yet submitted the notification, submit it without delay.
If you report the dog to the register using a paper form, you will receive an invoice for the registration fee approximately 3–4 weeks after the notification has been recorded in the register. If you report a dog using the e-service, the registration will be valid once you have paid the registration fee.
Individuals have been able to submit notifications from 8 May 2023. Associations and communities could use the service as of 29 August 2023.
