If you request official documents of the Finnish Food Authority, specify the information you need sufficiently so that we can determine which official document your request concerns. For this, please use our document publicity description that is available on the Finnish Food Authority’s website.
If your request for information concerns data sets that are tailored to your needs, we recommend that you submit the information request using the form available on the Finnish Food Authority’s website.

We will provide information on our public official documents within two weeks of the request. If the processing of the matter and the decision require special measures, such as concealing confidential information or otherwise a larger amount of work than usual, the matter is resolved and the information on the public document given no later than within one month of the request.
In accordance with the Act on the Openness of Government Activities (621/1999), documents and information may be disclosed within the limits set by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. According to the Act on the Openness of Government Activities, official documents are public unless otherwise provided for by law. The Act also applies to electronic documents and register data.
If you request information from a classified document or a person register or another document in the food administration’s information pools, be prepared to present your right to access the requested information. The Finnish Food Authority may disclose the information only under certain conditions. The Finnish Food Authority will ask you to provide the purpose of use for the data and other information necessary for determining the conditions for its disclosure. When requesting personal data, the Finnish Food Authority may request information from you on your right to process personal data in accordance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
