The City Archives preserves long-term and permanently preserved documents created in the activities of the City of Tampere. The City Archives also has private archives from Tampere, for example association archives. Documents can be requested to be viewed by email, using an electronic form, by phone, by letter or on site.
Information about the materials found in the City Archives is available from the ARCA archival information system (yksa.fi/tampere, only in Finnish), the City Archives website (https://www.tampere.fi/en/organisation/city-archive) and by inquiring from the City Archives information service.
The Archives Information Service serves anyone who needs information about the City Archives collections. Original paper materials can only be accessed in the City Archives Research Room.
Archival materials can be copied and scanned if the condition of the material, data protection or legal restrictions allow it. The service is free of charge, but copies and scans may be subject to a fee.
