Cattle premium

Cattle premiums are paid for mother cows, dairy cows, bulls and slaughtered heifers in the AB support area and bulls in the C support area.

You may receive the premium if you are an active farmer and you have a cattle farm.

You can apply for sheep and goat premiums annually in the Vipu service. The annual application period is at the beginning of the year.

To whom and on what terms

The premium for mother and dairy cows is paid in mainland Finland’s support area AB and mainland Åland.

Premium for bulls is paid for bulls and oxen in mainland Finland’s support area AB, mainland Åland and in support area C.

The cattle premium for the outer archipelago is paid for mother cows, dairy cows, bulls and oxen eligible for the premium in the outer archipelago of support area AB.

Premium for slaughter heifers is paid in support area AB.

Bovine premiums are paid based on a register, that is, the information on the animals on which the premium is based is obtained directly from the bovine register. The premium will be paid for all eligible animals.
