Building control documents are public, and anyone has the right to access them. Municipalities are obliged to archive the documents deemed necessary. The municipality records building and procedure permit drawings, as well as, for example, structure and ventilation drawings in the building control archive.

The designer of the building has the copyright to the plan according to the Copyright Act
