Breeding animals of native breeds

Compensation for the breeding animals of native breeds is paid for Finncattle, Finnsheep, Åland sheep and Kainuu Grey sheep, Finnish Landrace goats, Finnhorse and Finnish Landrace chicken throughout the country.

You can make an agreements within the limits of the appropriation determined in the Budget.

You can apply for an agreement on breeding animals of native breeds annually in the Vipu service.

To whom and on what terms

You may receive support for breeding animals of native breeds if you are a farmer and have the minimum number of animals of a native breed required to conclude the agreement. You can conclude a contract and apply for compensation for one year at a time.

The compensation is paid on the basis of the number of livestock units. Livestock units are calculated from the number of animals covered by the agreement.
