Blocking a notification of move

  • Service
  • Nationwide
  • Public service

The possibility to block a notification of move is intended for those whose information has been used for a false notification of move, or who fear that their personal information could be used for making a false notification of move to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. In these cases, the person has usually lost their identity documents, or they have been stolen. Often a report of an offence has already been filed.

A block on a notification of move is made to Digital and Population Data Services Agency and entered into the Population Information System.

If you have filed for a block on a notification of move and you move, your notification of move will be transferred to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency for processing but will not register in your data. The processing of the notification of move and the registration of data require that the blocking of the notification of move is removed at the Suomi.fi web service, or that you personally visit the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

If you do not have online bank user identifiers or a mobile certificate, you may block a notification of move by personally visiting an office of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. The matter can be dealt with at any of our offices.
