Basic income support is paid on the basis of eligible agricultural land throughout the country. Finland is divided into two support areas: AB and C area. You can check the support areas in the Suomi.fi map service.

The purpose of the basic income support is to guarantee a minimum level of agricultural income support for active farmers.

Do the following

You can apply for the support annually in the Vipu service in May–June when applying for field subsidies.

To whom and on what terms

You can receive basic income support if you are an active farmer and cultivate eligible crops. The smallest plot of land, for which the support can be paid, is 0.05 hectares. In addition, the total amount of direct supports granted to your farm must be at least EUR 500 during the support year in order for the payments to be made. In addition to basic income support, direct supports include eco-scheme support, animal premiums, special crop premium, income support for young farmers, starch potato premium and redistributive income support.
