Basic education is organised in accordance with the Basic Education Act and the Basic Education Decree. The content and working methods of instruction are described in the national core curriculum approved by the Finnish National Agency for Education. In addition, each school has their own specified curriculum, which you can explore on the schools’ websites.

We aim to organise basic education in such a way that every child can attend school according to their skills and experience the joy of learning. In addition to smooth studies, we also consider it important that the pupils feel safe at school.
