Authorisation for deferment of payment
- Permit or other obligation
- Public service
Authorisation for deferment of payment is required if goods are to be released before the customs invoice is paid. Authorisation for deferment of payment requires a comprehensive guarantee authorisation and a lodged guarantee.
If a company has an authorisation for comprehensive guarantee and deferment of payment, it will get a term of payment of around five weeks to pay the fees levied for import. An amount corresponding to the customs debt is reserved as guarantee from the general import guarantee in connection with customs clearance. The reserved amount is released when the debt is paid.
If the holder of a comprehensive guarantee authorisation and an authorisation for payment deferment wishes to make use of the payment period of about one month, the comprehensive guarantee must cover any pending payments during the credit period.
The authorisation decision is issued in either Finnish or Swedish.
