Approval of reindeer slaughterhouses and approvable food premises connected to them

The Finnish Food Authority approves reindeer slaughterhouses, approved food establishments operating in connection with them, and substantial changes to their operations upon application. Approved establishments are entered in the register of approved food establishments.

  • Submit an approval application to the Finnish Food Authority before starting operations or implementing a substantial change.
  • Attach the required reports and supporting documents.
  • The Finnish Food Authority processes the application and may request additional information if necessary.
  • Operations may begin after the approval decision has been issued.

The service is intended for operators establishing a reindeer slaughterhouse or an approved food establishment connected to it, or making substantial changes to their operations.
