Applying for binding tariff information (BTI)
- Public service
If your company is planning to import or export goods outside the EU, you can apply for a written BTI electronically on the BTI service.
A BTI is a decision on the commodity code of goods. The BTI is valid throughout the EU. A decision is usually valid for three years. The decision is binding for both customs authorities and the holder of the decision.
The decision is free of charge. However, customs authorities can legally charge for costs due, for example, analysing the goods.
