You can apply for a customs clearance carnet if you are a crew member of a means of transport that provides professional transportation between Finland and a country or territory outside the EU. In that case, you can import a certain amount of goods when travelling on duty, as long as you enter the goods you are importing in a customs clearance carnet.

Do the following

Send your application for a customs clearance carnet with the required documents to a customs office that issues carnets. Customs offices that issue customs clearance carnets are listed under the contact information on the website of Customs. If you send the application on paper, the customs clearance carnet will be mailed to the address you have provided. Alternatively, you can visit a customs office that issues customs clearance carnets.

When applying for a carnet, you need to present the following:

  • an ID document
  • a photograph (passport photo)
  • proof of employment, e.g. an employment contract
