Turun Setlementti ry (Turku Settlement Association) is politically and religiosly independent youth organization. Our goal is to support the growth of children and young people as individuals and members of societys.
Turun Setlementti ry is responsible for the Girls’ and Boys’ Houses in Turku (Turun Tyttöjen Talo & Turun Poikien Talo). The association organizes morning and afternoon activities at the Raunistula school and carries out summer activities for school children. Activities are funded by the Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations (STEA), the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varha) and the city of Turku.
At the Girls’ and Boys’ Houses we carry out genderdivided social youth work for 10-29 year old. In our activities we follow the principles for a safer space and take into account gerder diversity. Our approach is gender sensitive and culturally sensitive. Our goals are to support the development of identitity and growth towards own kind of youth and adulthood. We offer safer space to connect and support stronger social skills. Houses are placed in the city center and Varissuo (Girls House).
