Our municipality is located in the southeastern part of the landscape of Southern Ostrobothnia in a catchment area characterized by abundant water bodies and landscapes with high slopes. From Raitamäki, the highest point of the landscape, you can see our municipality and landscape to a great extent. The snowy dangers of Soini originate from the waterways of Ähtävä, Ähtäri and Saarijärvi. For those who are interested in pure nature and the recreational opportunities it offers, Soini is a real place for kings. Tourists have noticed our diverse nature and excellent routes. As nature tourism areas, the Arpainen trail and Kuninkaanpuisto areas with their nature themes are interesting destinations.

Our municipality's basic service is in order. Comprehensive school and, as a good example, day care, where various options are available without queuing. Culture has a strong position in our municipality. Exercise and sport are alive and well. We have invested heavily in sports facilities. The sports hall next to the comprehensive school offers versatile opportunities for indoor sports, and the artificial ice rink, which utilises the school's social facilities, enables ice skating and ice games. The football field on the sports field also supports leisure activities. There are more than 40 km of well-maintained cross-country ski trails. The sports stars that maintain the reputation of our municipality, such as Merja Korpela and Jelena Jaakkola, were born on the basis of strong hobby activities.

The backbone of our business is the wood industry and the operations that support it. The Kuninkaanjoki Business Valley industrial area, which is at the heart of wood industry business, offers good opportunities for entrepreneurship. The largest company in our municipality, Oy Kohiwood Oy, is located in the Kuninkaanjoki Business Valley area. In the development work, we cooperate in the Ostrobothnia region together with the municipalities of Alajärvi and Vimpeli, and more generally in the lake region of South Ostrobothnia. In accordance with the development programme, we will invest in the bioeconomy, the mechanical wood industry and tourism.
