The details of your studies can also be viewed in the Suomi.fi Web Service

Published 12/2/2019

The Suomi.fi Web Service now also shows the details of your studies. The details from the National Agency for Education’s Koski service have been added to the Web Service’s Registers section. The Koski service compiles information on the study modules (credits) completed by Finnish nationals and their rights to study.

You will see the following details in Suomi.fi:

  • the rights to study and the credits completed at comprehensive schools, upper secondary schools and vocational education and training institutions recorded since January 2018
  • the matriculation examinations taken since 1990
  • the higher education and associated rights to study can mainly be viewed from 1995 onwards, but there may be exceptions for individual higher education institutions

The study details of Finnish nationals have been available from the My Studyinfo service since February 2018.  The service may also be used to share selected information with others via a link.

‘Details of studies might be required at any time; for example, when job-seeking,’ says Joonas Mäkinen, Development Manager at the National Agency for Education. ‘That’s why it’s good that they are also now easily available on line via Suomi.fi.’

Jari Suhonen from the Population Register Centre and owner of the Suomi.fi Web Service is happy that the Koski service has been incorporated into the Suomi.fi registers.

‘Our objective is to expand the Registers section to make it available for as many different areas of life as possible, and details of studies are a big step forward in this endeavour. In this way public data repositories become more transparent, as the register, which is of growing interest to citizens, can be viewed with just a view clicks,’ says Suhonen.

Besides details of studies, Suomi.fi can make available the information held on you in the Population Information System and the Land Information System of Finland, the details of the vehicles registered in your name and your driving licences.  You can see your details by logging in to the Suomi.fi Web Service at www.suomi.fi.

The Suomi.fi service provided by the Population Register Centre brings together information and services relating to public services for citizens and businesses at a single address. It provides, for example, official electronic services, forms, and information on municipal services.

By logging in to the service you can for example view your own details in the register. In future, you can also receive messages relating to public administration services (e.g. decisions, instructions, notifications and the results of surveys) in the secure electronic mail box in the Suomi.fi Web Service instead of getting paper versions in the post. You can also authorise a person to use the service on your behalf or request a mandate to use the service on behalf of someone else.
