According to the standing orders of the Working Hours Act, regular working hours can be no more than eight hours a day and 40 hours a week. Apply for the exceptional permit for occasional work in writing from the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland. You can use the Exceptional permit for occasional work form for the permit application. Attach the employee representative’s statement to the application.
To whom and on what terms
A precondition for a decision on the matter is that the shop steward or elected representative is reserved an opportunity to be heard on the application. If no such employee representative is present at the workplace, the opportunity to be heard is given to the occupational safety and health representative. If there is no employee representative at the workplace, the opportunity to be heard must be reserved separately for each employee that the application concerns.
Deadline
Submit the permit application to the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland before the applied period of validity starts.
Processing time
The processing time is 30 days after the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland has received all documents required for the permit application.
Period of validity
The permit is granted for a maximum period of two years.
