Water work card

Household or pool water hygiene competence must be demonstrated by taking a household or pool water hygiene competence test, maintained by Valvira. Valvira grants a water work card to those who have passed the test.

Do the following

Valvira's website contains the names and contact information of the testers approved by Valvira. The tester organises test events and informs about them, inspects the test performances of those participating in the test, in accordance with the instructions provided by Valvira to the testers, and submits to Valvira the required information on those who have passed the test.

To whom and on what terms

A person working in an institution supplying household water, in swimming halls and spas or similar, and performing measures affecting the quality of household or pool water, must have sufficient basic knowledge of, for example, microbiology and chemistry, cleaning technology, hygiene, monitoring of use and legislation.
