To whom and on what terms
Firearms and explosives must only be handed over to the police, never to anyone else. For your own safety, unlicensed firearms and explosives should not be touched or handled.
To avoid repercussions, individuals in possession of unlicensed firearms and explosives must report these items to the police on their own initiative. However, under the Criminal Code individuals in possession of unlicensed firearms and explosives can still be held criminally liable for any offences committed using the weapons.
