Support services for informal carers of those aged under 65 years old

Services that support informal carers in their work include statutory leave, which can be arranged as short-term care in housing services or institutions, with the help of a substitute informal carer or hourly caretaker, as day activities, or as a home service.

To whom and on what terms

An informal carer receiving support for informal care is entitled to at least two full days of leave for any calendar month during which they are paid support for informal care. An informal carer is entitled to at least three full days of leave for any calendar month during which the carer is bound continuously or with only minor interruptions to provide around-the-clock or continuous daily care.

The service is intended for residents of Helsinki.
