In HUS, surgical procedures are performed in most of the hospitals in the hospital district. Hospitals in the Helsinki University Hospital Area in Helsinki, Espoo (Jorvi Hospital) and Vantaa (Peijas Hospital) are primarily responsible for the treatment of patients in their area, but also for demanding specialized level surgery in the HUS Specific Catchment Area (Uusimaa region, hospital districts of Kymenlaakso and South Karelia) as well as for certain national obligations, such as organ transplantation, arrhythmia surgery, treatment of severe burns and cleft lip and palates.

In addition, surgical procedures are carried out in the treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases, eye diseases and gynecological diseases, as well as in connection with childbirths.
Treatment at our unit requires a physician’s referral.
