Aukusti Veuro was born in Sääksjärvi where he also studied sculpture under Emil Wikström. Veuro was also a founder; he received a Grand Prix at the Paris World Fair for the work he did on Wäinö Aaltonen's, his brother-in-law's, Paavo Nurmi statue.
