Background information

Older persons are offered counselling and guidance on using social welfare and health care services. The advisers explain what services offered by different providers are available for older persons in their homes and elsewhere. They guide older persons in accessing the services and explain what the preconditions for using the services are. If necessary, counselling on applying for different financial support forms and their coordination is also available.

An older person can obtain counselling for example on telephone or by visiting a service point. Service advisers can make decisions related to the services.
