In school health care, the growth and development of the student is followed in cooperation with the parents, teachers and Student Welfare staff. Each upper secondary school has a nurse and a doctor.
School health care services in upper secondary schools:• health check-ups• vaccinations• treatment of medical conditions and emergency care• monitoring of chronic diseases• school doctor services• emergency care of injuries and referral to follow-up treatment• health education• matters related to special diets• monitoring of the health conditions of the studying environment
Health check-ups in upper secondary schools:1. First year: students receive a health check-up conducted by the school nurse and, if necessary, another check-up conducted by the doctor2. Second year: students receive a health check-up conducted by the doctor, and students of call-up age will receive a conscription examination regardless of their municipality of residence
