Public safety communication
- Public service
The Rescue Department uses various means to increase people’s ability to prevent and respond to accidents and incidents. The objective of public safety communication is to support and guide people in fulfilling their obligations under chapters 2 and 3 of the Rescue Act.
The Rescue Department organises safety training, public events (such as 112 Day), other events and campaigns. Safety training includes, for example, teaching first-aid fire extinguishing, safety education for pupils in pre-primary and secondary education, expert lectures and other events and general guidance and advice on the prevention of fires, accidents and incidents. You can find safety information and instructions on the website of the Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department and you can follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and YouTube. You can also visit us during one of our open days if you want to get a closer look at how the Rescue Department operates.
