Obedience test for guard and security dogs

Dogs serving in guard and security duties must pass an obedience test in a specified form. The required performances have been specified in the annex to the Ministry of the Interior decree (782/2002). The test is accepted by the Police University Colleg e/ Police Dog Training Centre staff.

Registration to the test in advance using the form available at www.polamk.fi/poliisikoiralaitos.
To whom and on what terms
The handler of the dog participating in the test must have a valid security guard or security steward license.
Deadline
Guards and security stewards are allowed to have a dog meeting the prescribed requirements accompany them while performing guard duties for two years from the date of acceptance.
Processing time
One workday.
Period of validity
An accepted test remains valid for two years from the date of acceptance.
